Day 1 - Buenos Aires to San Antonio de Areco

The scenic and pleasant morning drive from Buenos Aires to San Antonio de Areco takes just over an hour and a half, but the journey brings you deep into the Pampas, the heart and birthplace of Argentina’s Gaucho traditions. Upon arrival, settle in to your elegant guestroom at our luxury hotel, set on the grounds of a 200-year-old estancia. Taste traditional "empanadas" followed by a delicious typical barbecue.The rest of the afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy as you wish. You might explore the expansive park-like grounds of the Estancia by foot, mountain bike or horseback, perhaps accompanied by one of the seasoned gauchos. A horse-drawn carriage ride offers a particularly delightful way to experience your surroundings. This evening’s dinner features authentic regional cuisine accompanied by fine Argentine wine.
